We provide a weekly yoga program for all students. Children will learn beginning poses, partner poses, and meditation. Yoga classes will often be related to our curriculum theme. Mrs. DiMascio, an LSP teacher, is also a licensed yoga instructor and teaches the weekly class.
Children's yoga provides many benefits for the developing child. Yoga can encourage self-esteem and body awareness in a noncompetitive way. Research has shown that children who participate in yoga have enhanced flexibility, strength, coordination, concentration, and sense of calmness.
